How to convert grams to cups
- Pick the ingredient. A cup of flour and a cup of sugar weigh very different amounts.
- Type the weight in grams (or switch "From" to ounces, pounds or kilograms).
- Read the cups, and the nearest measuring-cup reading, like "¾ cup + 1 tbsp".
cups = grams ÷ grams per cup of the ingredient
Example: 200 g of all-purpose flour ÷ 125 g per cup = 1.6 cups, about 1 ½ cups + 1½ tbsp.

Why weigh instead of using cups?
A cup of flour scooped straight from the bag can weigh 20% more than one spooned in and levelled, and that is enough to turn a soft cake dry. Grams don't change. When a recipe gives cups, convert once and weigh from then on.
